NYPD Requests 5 Rappers be Removed From Rolling Loud Line-up in NY

On October 12th, the New York Police Department (NYPD) issued a statement to Rolling Loud, the worlds largest hip-hop festival, to remove 5 New York Rappers from the festival's line-up. Rappers--- Pop Smoke, Casanova, Don Q, Sheff G and 22gz--- were scheduled to perform at Rolling Loud, but a few days before their appearance at Queen's Citi Field, organizers of the festival received a certified letter from NYPD Assistant Chief Martin Morales, citing the previously named artists as a "public safety concern". This year was Rolling Loud's debut festival in the city that birthed Hip-hop and thus, the organizers expected a large turn out. The co-founder of Rolling Loud, Tariq Cherif, took to his social media to apologize to the 5 artists and to mention, "If we want [Rolling Loud] to return to NYC, we have to comply. That's the position we're in." All artists received their booking fees and will be offered performances at future Rolling Loud festivals outside of New York.
